Registration
On-line registration
On-line registration for all packages is currently available via
Kagi's registration service, either through
Kagi's web page order form
or via email with the
Register
application.
(Note that if you're
using the drop-in stationery, the licensing fee may have to be entered by
hand into the Register form.)
I don't provide the Register application (at least not
yet), so if you're registering that way, you'll need to pick up the
application yourself.
Off-line registration
Off-line registration for all packages is available via postal mail.
Please send a check or money order for the appropriate amount in US funds to:
Robert Ellison
Smart Dog Software
2400 Leghorn Drive
Fort Collins, CO 80526
USA
Please remember to include a note with:
- a list of the packages you're registering,
- an e-mail address (if available) and/or a postal address
so we can send you a registration code, and
- the Owner Info or NewtonID name of your Newton.
Delivery of registration codes
Registration codes are delivered within five business days of the
receipt of funds from your order; in most cases, you can expect a
registration code within 24 hours, but we cannot guarantee this.
About registration codes
Registration is NewtonID-aware; registration codes based on either your
user name or your NewtonID will unlock Smart Dog products.
Registration codes should be entered into appropriate "Prefs" forms.
Case is significant. The registration codes may include numbers (including
ones and zeroes), but will not include the capital letters O or I, or the
lower-case letter l (to avoid confusion).
Customers may register packages that are still in beta-test; such
customers become beta customers.
Bugs
Smart Dog recommends the use of Tactile Software's
BugTrap
software for finding the causes of unexpected crashes or exceptions.
BugTrap creates a report with detailed information that
helps us locate program problems quickly. Please send the report
along with a description of the problem to
smartdog@smartdogsw.com.
Some Smart Dog programs
(like BackTalk) have custom debugging utilities.
See their documentation for more details.
